Why cleaning never works
The haze is inside the sealed airspace, between two panes that are bonded together. No amount of cleaning reaches it.
It means the perimeter seal has failed, and with it the insulating value of the unit.
Unit out, frame stays
For most residential windows the sealed unit is replaced and the frame and sash are left alone.
The replacement is matched on thickness, airspace and coating so it looks and performs like the rest of the house.

Is it cheaper than a whole new window?
In most cases replacing the sealed unit is significantly less involved than replacing the entire window, because the frame, sash and trim all stay in place.
Will the new unit match my other windows?
We match thickness, tint and coating. On older houses with obsolete glass there can be a slight difference, and we will say so before ordering.
