A different structural problem
Curtain wall hangs off the building structure and carries its own weight back to it, spanning continuously across floor lines. Window wall sits between slabs, floor to floor.
Both have to accommodate building movement, thermal expansion and water management in ways a ground-floor storefront never does.
Drainage is the whole game
These systems are designed to let water in and then get it back out — pressure-equalised chambers, weeps and gaskets doing the work rather than a single line of sealant.
Most curtain wall leaks are not glass failures. They are blocked weeps, failed gaskets or a sealant repair that closed off the drainage path it was meant to protect.

Can a single curtain wall panel be replaced?
Yes, though access drives the cost more than the glass does. Panel replacement at height needs the right equipment and a plan for getting the unit up and the old one down safely.
Our curtain wall leaks. Is that the glass?
Rarely. Start with the drainage path — weeps, gaskets and joinery. Sealing over a leak without finding where the water is meant to exit usually moves the leak rather than stopping it.
