An entrance door on a busy retail unit cycles more times in a year than most building components do in their life. Everything about it is a wear problem — the closer, the pivots, the threshold, the weatherstrip, the lock.
A door that drags, slams, or will not latch is usually not a broken door. It is a door whose hardware was specified for lighter duty than it is getting.
Stile, hardware and traffic
Aluminum entrance doors come in narrow, medium and wide stile. The stile width determines what lock and panic hardware will physically fit, and how much abuse the corners will take.
Match that to the closer, the pivot or butt hinge, and a threshold that will not become a trip hazard, and you get a door that stays adjusted. Get it wrong and you are back every quarter.

Straight answers
Can you repair a door instead of replacing it?
Frequently. Closers, pivots, locks, thresholds and weatherstripping are all serviceable. Replacement makes sense when the stiles or corners have racked, when the door is out of square, or when the hardware you need will not fit the stile you have.
Do you install panic and exit hardware?
Yes, and we install it to meet egress requirements. Where a door is on a required exit path, the hardware has to release without a key, without special knowledge and in a single motion.
