Privacy policy

This policy covers the Stonewing Glass website. It explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it. It is written to be read rather than to be impenetrable.

What we collect when you contact us

When you submit a form on this site we receive the details you type into it: your name, company, phone number, email address, project location, the service you selected, and anything you write in the description field.

A small amount of technical information travels with the submission as well — the page you sent it from, and the marketing source the enquiry can be attributed to. Attribution is described further down.

Phone calls, recording and tracking

When you call us we receive your phone number as part of the call. Calls may be recorded.

The phone numbers shown on this site are handled through a call-tracking service, which records details of the call so we can tell which advertisement, page or campaign produced it. Form submissions on this site are processed by the same kind of tracking technology, for the same reason. Those providers receive that information as part of providing the service to us.

Why we collect it

To price, schedule and carry out the work you are asking about, to contact you about it, and to understand which marketing produces genuine enquiries. We do not sell your personal information.

Service providers

We use outside providers to run this website and to handle enquiries, and they process information on our behalf. Their functions include hosting and infrastructure, workflow automation, customer and enquiry management, call and form tracking, and analytics and advertising measurement.

Customer reviews shown on this site are retrieved from Google Maps when you view the page. Reviewer names, photos and links are Google content, reviewer photos load from Google’s servers, and Google Maps content is subject to Google’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We do not store those reviews.

Analytics and advertising measurement

This site uses analytics and measurement tools to understand which pages people find useful and which advertising campaigns produce enquiries. Those tools record things like the pages you view, the approximate region you are in, the type of device you use, and which link or advertisement brought you here.

Browser opt-out signals

Our own website event tracking respects supported browser opt-out signals such as Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control: when one of those signals is present, this site does not record its own analytics events for your visit. Third-party technologies on the site — tag management, analytics, and call and form tracking — may still load or operate, so a browser signal is a partial control rather than a complete opt-out. If you would rather we did not use your information, contact us and tell us.

Advertising attribution

If you arrive from an advertisement, the campaign identifiers in the link are stored in your browser so that an enquiry made later can be credited to the campaign that produced it. The copy held in your browser expires after 90 days, and clearing your browser storage removes it sooner.

When you send an enquiry, the relevant campaign and click identifiers are included with it so we can tell which marketing source generated it. Once they are attached to an enquiry they sit alongside your contact details in our records, and they are kept for as long as that record is kept.

Cookies and local storage

This site uses browser storage for advertising attribution as described above, and the analytics, tag management and tracking tools it loads may set their own cookies. Clearing your browser storage and cookies removes them.

How long we keep things

We do not currently work to a fixed deletion schedule for the enquiry and customer records held in our customer-management system, and those records may be kept indefinitely. Other information may be kept for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, or for as long as legitimate business, contractual, insurance, accounting or legal requirements apply.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Use the details on the contact page. We review deletion requests and respond appropriately, taking into account records we may need to keep for legitimate business or legal reasons, so we cannot promise deletion in every circumstance.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
